Description & Job Qualifications:

Working from shop drawing, procedures or other written, verbal or electronic instruction, perform a wide variety of operations associated with welded assembly of final product, sub-assemblies and components for products which includes adherence to ASME Code Safety Regulations. Maintain equipment and facilities in a safe, clean and efficiently operational manner. Adhere to procedures and prepare and maintain records, in either written or electronic form, regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance and housekeeping. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

At Wieland Provides, a Welder is required to perform, but is not limited to, the following duties:

·      Read, interpret, understand and work fromblueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries andother written, electronic or verbal instruction.

·      Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous andalloy materials.

·      Operate various tools and equipment used in thefabrication, handling, manipulation and movement of product

·      Utilize various types of weldingequipment/techniques

·      May supervise machines that perform automatedwelding tasks.

·      Be certified and perform within ASME Coderegulations.

·      Use measuring devices and visual inspection toensure quality of product and conformity to prints, work instructions andstandards.

·      Maintain required records.

 

Skill Requirements

·      Steadiness of arms and hands and makecoordinated movements.

·      Ability to read text, process and understand itsmeaning.

·      Able to gather and retrieve informationeffectively.

·      Mechanical knowledge of machines/tools and theiruses and maintenance.

·      Near vision

·      Visualization

·      Mathematical reasoning

·      Control precision

·      MIG/TIG @ 6G preferred

 

Other Requirements

·      Mechanical - Machines/tools and their uses,design and maintenance

·      Design - Techniques, principles, blueprints,drawings and models

·      Engineering Technology - Application ofprinciples/techniques in production

·      Production - Raw materials, processes, safetyand quality assurance

·      High School Diploma or G.E.D.

·      2+ years of previous experience in an industrialenvironment preferred.

 

Physical Demands:

·      Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending and reaching

·      Perform work in heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, work from an elevated platform and working in cramped quarters, e.g., inside vessels.

·      Ability to wear personal protective equipment(PPE) required for this position, including hearing protection, safety eyewear, safety footwear, face shield, welding helmet, welding gloves, welding sleeves/jacket, welding apron/chaps, and respirator if required.

·      Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
