Job Summary:
Working from shop drawing, procedures and/or other written, verbal, or electronic instruction, perform a wide variety of operations. Produces parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Maintains Safety and Quality Standards, keeps records, and maintains equipment and supplies. Adhere to procedures and prepare and maintain records, in either written and/or electronic form, regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance and housekeeping. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A Machine Operator at Wieland/Provides is required to perform, but is not limited to, the following duties:
• Plans machining by reading, interpreting, understanding, and working from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
• Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• Programs equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation
• Sets up equipment by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, heads, etc.
• Maintains specifications by observing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjust and/or programming controls.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by completing operator maintenance requirements, following manufacturers and/or company instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for repairs.
• Maintain required records in either written or electronic form.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.

Physical Demands:
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching
• Perform work in heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs and working in cramped quarters.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required for this position, including hearing protection, safety eyewear, safety footwear, face shield, welding helmet, welding gloves, welding sleeves/jacket, welding apron/chaps, and respirator if required.
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
Starting Hourly Pay:
Weekday and Weekend Shifts: $23.50 – $26.11
